Polish regions.. Part 3. Hell.. :)

And on the end for me best place in Poland

The width of the peninsula varies from approximately 300 m. near Jurata, through 100 m in the most narrow part to over 3 km at the tip. Since the peninsula was formed entirely of sand, it is frequently turned into an island by winter storms. Until the 17th century the peninsula was a chain of islands that formed a strip of land only during the summer.

A road and a railroad run along the peninsula from the mainland to the town located at the furthest point, Hel, a popular tourist destination. Other towns, ports, and tourist resorts are Jurata, Jastarnia, Kuźnica, Chałupy, and Władysławowo.

and it's been even better a few years ago..

hel was mostly a military area for many years, but my girlfriend's (she was born on Hel) parents lived there so i have had many occasions to visit this place when the access was restricted. now imagine all this beautiful beaches without any single tourist, billboard etc..

  2. Ahhhhh before I read thi post I have already posted in your first post about Hel. Its really amazing one side you can see bay, than you go around 300m and you can see the Baltic sea.

Right now a loooot of turists visit peninsula so coming back on Sundays during summer holidays is a crap!!!!

I found an Idea how to not stay in traffic :)

You are driving saturday mid day to Gdynia with the car. You leave car on parking that you are taking ferry to Jastarnia and on Sunday you will save at least 3-4 hours.

  3. For me Hel is nowadays a bit too crowded. It is an amazingly nice place, but during the summer time, it is “besieged” but young people. It is fun if you want to party with friends, it is impossible not to meet someone, being there. However, personally I’m a bit irritated by the amounts of people there. Although Hel is not what it used to be, I agree with your place-choices for the presentation. These are ones of the nicest destinations and your hometown also seems encouraging:)

  4. I have never been in those places but I believe that they are beautiful. In my opinion Bieszczady could be the best place in Poland. Maybe because of that I prefer mountains.

  5. From all small cities situated on Hel Peninsula a like Chalupy the most. I like the cozy, lazy climate over there. You can live on the camp among young people. This is really nice place for having fun, parting and water sports... Next time when I will go there for a weekend I have to check Jacek's idea how to avoid huge traffic jam ;)
